These events were attended by 90 officers, representing 33 different agencies from across the state.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dothan was our first event outside of the Birmingham area.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Began a book giveaway program for those in officer-involved shootings. Gave 55 books to 16 departments.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Presented two law enforcement-specific books, \u201cSuicide is Not an Option\u201d and \u201cWinning a Gunfight\u201d to graduates of the Jefferson County Sheriff\u2019s Academy. There were 35 graduates representing 17 Sheriff\u2019s Offices.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">19.5% increase in donations.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row _builder_version=&#8221;4.7.7&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.7.7&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.7.7&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2><strong>The Year Ahead<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">This is what we are planning for 2022:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Present at the Winter Conference of the Alabama Association of Chiefs of Police.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Provide a ministry of presence to officers working security at the World Games 2022.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Expansion of the book give-away program.<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Fall Law Enforcement Conference (details TBA).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=&#8221;3_4,1_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.7.7&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;3_4&#8243; _builder_version=&#8221;4.7.7&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;][et_pb_text _builder_version=&#8221;4.7.7&#8243; _module_preset=&#8221;default&#8221;]<\/p>\n<h2><strong>Presenting at the Jefferson County Sheriff Training Center<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">On December 16, Burke Swearingen had the honor of presenting \u201cSuicide is Not An Option\u201d and \u201cWinning A Gunfight\u201d to academy graduates.
