We Had\u00a0a<\/span>\u00a0Fantastic Fall Conference<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wow!! What\u00a0a<\/span>\u00a0turnout!\u00a0The<\/span>\u00a0Lord continues to amaze me at how he is blessing\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0efforts of everyone at\u00a0Blue<\/span>Watch<\/span>. Attendance at this year\u2019s leadership conference exceeded all expectations. We broke another record. There were 121 officers in attendance representing over 30 agencies from across\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0state. Overall total, counting volunteers and guests, was over 140 in attendance. For 19 agencies, it was their first time to attend one of our events and some drove well over two hours to get here.\u00a0Each of\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0five speakers brought their own unique style and spoke of their own experiences and how humility had played an important role in their life.<\/span><\/p>\n

It was\u00a0a<\/span>\u00a0great day of learning, networking and fellowship as\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0officers learned about\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0greatest of all leadership principles, humility. Here are just\u00a0a<\/span>\u00a0few of\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0many positive comments shared at\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0conclusion of\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>day\u2019s events;\u00a0<\/span>\u201cVery good training\u201d<\/span>,\u00a0<\/span>\u201c I really enjoyed\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0enthusiasm\u00a0the\u00a0<\/span>speakers displayed\u201d<\/span>\u00a0\u0914\u0930\u00a0<\/span>\u201cthe<\/span>\u00a0class will assist me as\u00a0a<\/span>\u00a0leader.\u201d

This event was no different from\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0others. It took many people sacrificing and working together to make it happen.\u00a0A<\/span>\u00a0special word of thanks to our host, Jefferson State Community College and our sponsor, Southern Software Solutions.\u00a0A<\/span>\u00a0word of thanks is also in order for\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0many volunteers and our speakers, Richard Simmons, Dan Pahos, Keith Phillips, Manual Zarate and Randal McFarland.<\/span><\/div>\n

Plans are already underway for our Spring Conference and other learning events in\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0year ahead. Our next conference speaker will be Jim Bontrager,\u00a0a<\/span>\u00a0veteran law enforcement instructor, communicator and U.S. Marine. Join us as he presents Sun Tzu and\u00a0the<\/span>\u00a0Officer Resiliency Mindset\u00a0<\/span>“Psychological Resiliency Principles for Modern Day Policing,”\u00a0<\/span>on Thursday, April 23 from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
