April Highlights
Blue Watch had the pleasure of hosting the April meeting of the Metropolitan Criminal Justice Executives Association (MCJEA) at the Homewood Senior Center.
We were honored to talk about the Blue Watch mission and all that has been accomplished in the past year.

Manuel Zarate, Director of Leadership Development, gave an informative and inspirational message on the importance of giving back and how to best live those last years in the race of life.

Officer Outreach
In recent weeks Blue Watch reached out to the Jefferson County Sheriffs’ Department and Huntsville Police Department as both experienced officer-involved shootings. Jefferson County deputies encountered violent suspects on both April 3 and 20. Both incidents resulted in deputies having to take the life of the suspect.

Officer Garrett Crumby
On March 28, officers from the Huntsville Police Department were ambushed when they responded to a shots fired call. The two responding officers were shot, resulting in the death of Officer Garrett Crumby and critically injuring Officer Albert Morin. Blue Watch extends condolences to the Huntsville Police and Officer Crumby’s family.

Officer Albert Morin
We are happy to hear that Officer Morin is home recovering.
To show support and to provide needed resources to help officers in the aftermath, Blue Watch sent copies of “Winning A Gunfight” to each department. “Winning A Gunfight” arms officers with powerful information to not only help them survive but to win.

Blue Watch wants officers to have a clear mind and a whole heart. We offer resources that we believe will help them. Currently we offer the following books:
