Officer Outreach<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Blue Watch wants to place resources in the hands of officers that will help them cope with the trauma they often encounter. Sometimes it is the emotional scars of gun battle, other times it is the grief of dealing with the loss of a comrade by suicide. Whatever the case, Blue Watch helps by providing\u00a0<\/span>resources that are designed to help officers overcome whatever they may experience.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Last month we had the opportunity to reach out to officers of the Tuscaloosa Police Department and sent copies of \u201cWinning A Gunfight\u201d to their officers.<\/span><\/p>\n

On February 7, around 7:30 p.m., the Tuscaloosa Police Department experienced an officer-involved shooting when the suspect broke into the home of his ex-girlfriend. According to media reports, about two hours later the suspect shot into her car, then set her home on fire. Officers located the suspect\u2019s car and a chase ensued. During the chase, the suspect fired at officers, striking two of the police cruisers.
