Blue Watch Welcomes New Board Member

We want to take this opportunity to introduce you to our newest board member, Deputy Chief David Agee, of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office. David replaces Jim Cartledge who retired from the Board last year.

Deputy Chief Agee began his law enforcement career in 1986 with the Alabama Department of Corrections and in 1988, joined the Birmingham Police Department. In 1993, he joined the Sheriff’s Office where he has served for over 25 years.

Deputy Chief Agee is a lifelong resident of Jefferson County and a member of the Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church.

Strategic Leadership Series Comes to Birmingham Police Department

We’re excited to announce a partnership with the Birmingham Police Department.

In September, we will bring the Strategic Leadership Series to all department sergeants. This training series focuses on basic leadership principles that anyone in a position of authority needs to know.

A special thanks to Chief Thurmond for giving us this opportunity. Be on the lookout in the October newsletter for an after-action report. 

Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics

Once again Blue Watch had the pleasure of supporting this year’s Law Enforcement Torch Run. We supplied hundreds of cooling towels to many officers who participated in the run.
