The World Games Was a Success!
Not only did the World Games bring thousands of international athletes and guests to the Magic City, but it also gave Blue Watch an opportunity to thank the hundreds of officers that kept them safe.

During the games, Blue Watch provided care bags to nearly 300 officers, many who traveled from across the state to assist in the effort. Each bag contained snacks, personal care items and a copy of the book “Alive” written by J. Warner Wallace. Wallace, a retired Los Angeles Police cold-case homicide detective, examines Jesus’ resurrection applying the same methods used to examine the evidence as in a homicide case.
A special thanks to volunteers from Greater Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and Shades Mountain Baptist Church for preparing the bags. Without you we could not have done it.

Birmingham Sunrise Rotary

On July 26, Burke Swearingen had the honor of speaking to about 50 Rotarians at the Birmingham Sunrise Rotary weekly breakfast in the Harbert Center.
He shared the challenges officers and their families face and how the mission of Blue Watch is focused on helping by providing tools and resources to the law enforcement community.

Order Your Book Today
Blue Watch wants officers to have a clear mind and a whole heart. On our website we offer resources that we believe will help them. Currently we offer the following books:
- "赢得枪战......在枪战中以道德、精神和策略确保胜利": 要在枪战中获胜,不仅仅是身体上的幸存。大多数人在枪战中都能幸存下来,但未必能获胜。了解其中的区别以及如何才能生存下来并取得胜利。
- "自杀不是一种选择": Each year 2.5-3 times more officers take their own life than are murdered in the line of duty. Despite the efforts of many, the suicide rate amongst law enforcement officers continues to rise. Retired police sergeant and author, Tim Rupp explores the spiritual aspects and argues there is meaning to life beyond the individual.
- “Courageous Living Bible Study”: This is a four-session bible Study designed to challenge you to live courageously for the sake of your family. Based upon the movie “Courageous” session topics include fighting for your family, valuing what matters most, impacting future generations and standing for Christ.
